About Barbara St Jean
Barbara St. Jean was born in Maple Ridge, BC.
At the age of four she was introduced to Belle Morse from the Maple Ridge Merry Makers and her career in the arts was started. Over the next 26 years she studied dance and acting, and performed in hundreds of well known theatre productions throughout the province. Many of her performances have been televised and are still shown today. In 1980 Barbara opened her own dance studio in Mission, BC and shortly after, received her accreditation in choreography. She graduated from university in 1989 with a degree in Business and Economic Management. Her love of the arts continued to grow and expanded into drawing, sculpting and painting in the early 80's. With the age of computer technology in the 90's her talents expanded again to include the mediums of digital arts, graphics and photography. Her style is eclectic, from realism to abstract isolationism; she pushes the boundaries with a flare of her own. When asked how her ideas and concepts come to life on the stage or the canvas, she points up and says, "I can't take the credit, it was a gift from my muse."
Her open print gallery is available on-line at; http://barbara-saint-jean.artistwebsites.com/ or she can be contacted by email at; bcstjean (AT) hotmail.ca
