Artist's Description

Poppies are the symbol of remembrance since 1920 to commemorate soldiers who died in the war. The red poppy was trademarked by the Royal Canadian Legion, and suggests that poppies be worn on the left lapel on the 11th of November.
White poppies are sold by Peace Pledge Union or may be home-made and Purple poppies are to commemorate animal victims of war.
